What is Accredited Certification?
Certification is the act of verifying an organization's conformance to a standard or other set of requirements.
With regard to management systems, the terms systems certification and registration are used interchangeably. Accreditation is the means by which an authoritative body gives formal recognition that a certification body (CB) is competent to carry out specific tasks. Accreditation provides assurance to a CB's customers that the CB continues to operate according to internationally accepted criteria. The general steps in the certification process are similar for all accredited CBs.
